The new Mathematics Curriculum of Ontario now contains expectations related to coding. There are many reasons why coding is important for our students. To name a few, coding provides an outlet for students to leverage technology to solve relevant problems in their community, a pathway for nurturing digital discipleship, and context for developing various global competencies needed to thrive in the modern workplace. Â
On February 1, 2021, professional learning will be provided to 91ÁÔÆæ teachers so they can continue to familiarize themselves with the continuum of coding expectations from Grades 1 to 8 and explore innovative ways of leveraging this new curriculum to provide enriching, unplugged and technology-driven coding experiences to students.
